Hi guys, I hope you had a great week.
Today, I’m sharing this quick recipe for home-made tortillas that you can use for tacos and to make crispy tortilla chips. You can always go ahead and buy ready to go tortillas and make chips out of it, but then it wouldn’t be home-made, right? I assure you, it’s really very simple. Since corn is gluten-free, there’s no resting of the dough required and it’s impossible to overwork the dough (which makes it a fun activity to involve your kids in 🙂 ). Fresh corn tortillas are chewy, tender, and make much better tacos than store-bought tortillas. Continue reading “Home made corn tortillas and crispy chips”

It takes about an hour from start to finish to make it. Have a great weekend guys!

I can never get enough of the incredible flavours that available at the market in the summer time. One of my favourite ways to hold on to the season’s freshest berries is by making jam. It is easier to do than it sounds. You just need few basic ingredients that you probably have at home and some fresh berries. Today, I choose black and red raspberries. Savour the summer and make some jam! I plan to give it away as gifts for holiday season, and will present my jam in personalized cute mason jars. Touch of summer in the mid of winter. Can’t wait for holidays to come!

Juicy golden peaches and crème fraiche conjure up the sweet taste of summer. They are delicious and sweet as the filling for these light coffee-flavored buckwheat crepes. This recipe is lighter than the one I used to make Russian blini. I serve these crepes for breakfast, lunch or sometimes as a dessert after dinner. Enjoy 🙂
You don’t have to be eastern European to love this ultimate comfort food. I grew up making pierogi with potato, cheese and bacon bits filling. Steam it and serve with sour cream. They are good on next day as well; just warm it up by frying quickly on the pan. You could make it with different fillings but one of my favorite ones are mushroom, sauerkraut, meat and potato or sausage and potato. Give it a try 🙂

I decided to make one of my favourite summer desserts this time – Peach Galette. This is a simple, honest and delicious recipe of galette, made with fresh yellow peaches tossed with some sugar, butter and vanilla. I have a love for home made crust; I make several batches of dough in advance, and just wrap them in plastic wrap and keep it in the freezer until needed. If you have never made homemade crust before, you will be surprised at how easy it is to make it. Make this peach galette while peaches are at their best 🙂
