I used it as a basis for Victoria spongecake, Swedish cake Prinsesstarta, with butter-cream icing, apricot glaze and just simply with powdered sugar on top. Tourtiere (Classic Quebec pork pie recipe)

Hey guys, hope all of you are doing well. I’ve been quiet busy with school in the past little while, but even though I did not have time to share recipes, I am still cooking and baking. I have so many recipes and pictures, and I can not wait to share them with you.

Later, we are going to the Christmas Market at Distillery district. It is opening tonight! I look forward to get into Holiday spirit even though it’s still November 🙂 Speaking of holidays, I am sharing today super delicious recipe of Tourtiere (meat pie). This is a traditional Quebec pork pie recipe that we enjoy throughout the holidays. Essentially, tourtiere is a pie made of lightly spiced pork layered between flaky pastry. It’s total comfort food, guys. I hope you give it a try.

Home made corn tortillas and crispy chips

Hi guys, I hope you had a great week.

Today, I’m sharing this quick recipe for home-made tortillas that you can use for tacos and to make crispy tortilla chips. You can always go ahead and buy ready to go tortillas and make chips out of it, but then it wouldn’t be home-made, right? I assure you, it’s really very simple. Since corn is gluten-free, there’s no resting of the dough required and it’s impossible to overwork the dough (which makes it a fun activity to involve your kids in 🙂 ). Swedish cake Prinsesstårta

Thanksgiving weekend is finally here 🙂 well, almost amyway. It means fun get together with family and friends.. and mounds of yammy food 🙂 I was experimenting with Swedish princess cake that I first saw on great british bake off. I really wanted to make it perfect for the holidays. But, alas, yet have to learn how to make it. First of, french sponge genoise is extremely difficult to make I find. As soon as you try to mix in batter in, the whole mixture just colapses and looses it’s volume. After two fails, I made it happen. Also, instead of corn starch I used corn flour first time. The recipe was calling for corn flour and even though I had bells ringing in my mind, I assumed I should trust Mary Berry. After all that, on my third time it came out just great 🙂
The cake is super moist and just enough sweetness in it, with layers of raspberry jam, vanilla custard and fresh whipped cream. Yam.

Creamy macaroni and blue cheese

Warm coats are coming out and coffee bill is rising steadily.. which means autumn is here finally… 🙂 I believe there are tons of reasons to enjoy this season…like beautiful colours, cozy sweaters, cool tights, hot drinks, caramel apples, thanksgiving, pumpkin carving, and of course, comfort food. Brioche bread

Hi guys..How are you?

This week is very special for me, not only because I celebrated my 29th birthday but also, I have my 3 years anniversary with my sweet husband today :-). I can’t believe how time just flies by..but I actually enjoy getting older. I love understanding and appreciation for the life that comes with years, I love how I am learning to “not letting the behaviour of others to destroy my inner peace” as Dalai Lama teaches us, how to accept uncertainty and challenges, and still see positive in things. Because how else  would we learn/evolve if we were not challenged, right? Ok, so back to the recipe:-)..

This recipe is for basic brioche bread in stand mixer. From here, you can go ahead and add all sorts of things: orange zest, shaved chocolate, raisins, goat cheese and chive..whatever you like.

Orange Chiffon Cake

I don’t know about you guys but I love orange flavour in baking. This elegant cake is simply divine  fantastic. Bright, vibrant orange flavour comes from plenty of fresh orange juice and orange zest. The cake is light, airy and moist. Perfectly sweet without being overwhelming. Time to get your family and friends together for dinner and surprise them with this refreshing dessert. Coconut cake

Hi there, how is everyone doing? I have a fun and exciting weekend ahead of me..I will be sitting in the class both days from 8.30am-4.30pm studying! sigh.. So, tonight I’m busy with preparation for the class, refreshing my memory and going through the old notes. With that sad, I will still share very easy and quick recipe for delicious coconut cake.
